A wry view of life for the world-weary

Discovery Of The Week (4)

An old stalwart makes a welcome return.

Louise Rudd had ordered a chicken quinoa salad at the East Didsbury branch of Nando’s. Well into eating the meal she came across a foreign object which on closer inspection looked like a decomposed frog hiding in the salad leaves. A subsequent lab report identified it as the remains of a common European frog. Had she gone to a more upmarket restaurant, it would doubtless have been a rarer species.

Louise was hopping mad, claiming she was disgusted and as an athlete ingesting the frog could have imperilled her training schedule. She has been offered a free meal as compo – probably the last thing you would want in the circumstances – and Nando’s have aked their salad suppliers to be extra vigilant with their inspections.
