A wry view of life for the world-weary

Pareidolia Of The Week

We’ve commented before on the phenomenon that is pareidolia – seeing other patterns or shapes in common objects. Thinking that the moon bears the face of a person is a common form of this psychological trait.

Jayne Hunt caused a stir of Twitter last week by pointing out that the aerial view of a housing estate in Caerphilly in South Wales bears an uncanny resemblance to the Millennium Falcon, piloted by Harrison Ford’s Hans Solo in Star Wars. And so it does.

The Falcon, the design for which was cobbled together, according to director George Lucas, from a hamburger and an olive, was actually made in Wales before being transported to Pinewood Studios.

Weird. May the force be with you!
