A wry view of life for the world-weary

Interior Design Tip Of The Week

I never anticipated that the ever popular Journal of Medical Entomology would be the go-to magazine for tips on interior design but a story that came my way this week shows just how wrong I can be.

Caroline McNeill from Union College in Lincoln has published some research which demonstrates that bed bugs are particularly attracted to the colours red and black. Quite why is not clear but it is possible that because they have reddish exo-skeletons they may think they are joining other bed bugs.

Conversely, they seem to hate the colours green, yellow and white which, it is thought, they associate with light and habitation.

Might be worth considering when you think about changing the colour scheme of your bedding.
