What a waste.
With no obvious signs of a reduction in the lockdown restrictions, some 50 million pints of beer, trapped in the cellars of Britain’s pubs, are likely to go to waste. Real ales and unpasteurised beers have a shelf-life of around 6 to 9 weeks while pasteurised drinks like lager are good to use for between 3 and 4 months. Most of it will have to be poured away.
When the pubs do eventually open, watch out for a beer shortage. You have been warned.
